In Thailand, people have always paid close attention
to the little things in diet. That is why Thai food is filled with
spices, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. These ingredients are more
than just good taste, and either decoration or flavor, they are known
to have a potential helpful effect when we eat them. Lemon Grass is a tall, grass-like
plant, known as Takhrai, has small, bulbous roots and a lemony flavor
and aroma. It features in Thai cooking; widely used in savory dishes
and meat, poultry, seafood and curries. It harmonizes well with coconut
milk, especially with chicken or seafood, and there are countless
Thai recipes exploiting this combination. The stems are also used
in teas or used in pickles and in flavoring marinades. The lemon
grass is considered a diuretic, tonic and stimulant. It
promotes good digestion, and a preparation of lemon grass with pepper
has been used for relief of menstrual troubles and nausea. It induces
perspiration, to cool the body and reduce a fever.
" Thai
B-B-Q Pork with Sticky Rice (Kao
Neaw Moo Yang)", one of the popular dishes throughout
Thailand, is our special dishes of this month. It is marinated pork
lion with garlic, pepper, salt, lemon grass, sesame oil, soy sauce
and spices. Then, grill and serve with fresh cucumber, tomato, sticky
rice and spicy hot-dipping sauce. This dish can be served as appetizer
or meal.
Try our new appetizer " Half Moon
Delight ". It is deep-fried wonton wrapper stuffed
with yellow curry paste, sweet potato, chicken and onion.
Have you ever been to Thailand?
The Kingdom of Thailand draws visitors with its virtually irresistible combination
of everything for every type of traveler. The country offers breathtaking
natural beauty, inspiring temples, renowned hospitality, robust cuisine,
ruins of fabulous ancient kingdoms and many more.
We would like to take you to " Rayong "
for fruits, beaches and beautiful islands. Rayong
is situated on the East Coast about 200 kilometers from Bangkok. It is blessed
with an abundance of natural beauty including its 100 km stretch of coastline,
a series of mountains interspersed by flat plains and fruit plantations.
The picturesque coastline features beautiful beaches and fishing villages,
with small islands just scattered offshore- of which the most famous is
Ko Samet.
Rayong is also known for plentiful
seafood and tropical fruits. Rayong
doesn't offer the nightlife and busy town atmosphere like Phuket, Phi
Phi Island or Pattaya, in contrary, the attraction are of historical value
and idyllic scenery. It is truly a haven for visitors seeking rest and
relaxation at one of the many beaches.
Here are a few more phrases to help you get going to challenge of tackling
